The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a home invasion in Natomas where the victim was sexually assaulted.

At about 2 a.m. this morning, police officers responded to a home invasion call at an apartment community on the 4800 block of Kokomo Drive in the Creekside area.

Officers believe the suspect entered the residence through an unlocked door and robbed the victim at gunpoint. Sometime during the robbery, the victim was also sexually assaulted. The suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s, 6 feet talk, 200 pounds, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and baggy blue jeans.

“I want to encourage everyone to lock their doors and windows at night, keep an eye out for one another and report any suspicious activity,” said Councilwoman Angelique Ashby, who resides in Creekside. “Know that the Sacramento Police Department is working quickly to find this perpetrator and bring him to justice.”

Police are investigating whether this morning’s incident is linked to two other home invasions in South Natomas within the past several weeks. In both of those cases the suspect entered an open garage door in the early morning hours and robbed the male victims at gun point. The suspect was described as a black male, in his 20’s or 30’s, 6 feet tall, wearing a hooded sweat shirt and dark pants.
