Girl Scouts Event Tuesday In Natomas

Troop 1632 gift wrap station service project to benefit the SPCA raised just over $80 in donations!
The Girl Scouts service unit in Natomas is scheduled to hold a recruiting event 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. TUESDAY, Jan. 25 in the North Natomas Library community room.
Currently there are 300 girls registered as Girl Scouts in the Natomas area. Adult volunteers in this service unit plan events for registered girls every month.

Daisy Troop 1366, with the help of Brownie Troop 1490 completely filled a donation barrel full of non-perishable food items for the Sacramento Food Bank by organizing a walking canned food drive.
Any girl in kindergarten through 12th grade is invited to attend and learn more about how to become a Girl Scout. Tuesday night’s event theme is “Cookies and Camp” and will feature free Girl Scout cookie tasting and information about all the fun things girls do such as:
  • Daisy Troop #1366 beautified the community with artwork and clean-up skills by painting the North Natomas Library’s “Artists of Our Own Destiny” sculpture and picking up trash in the surrounding parking lot and school area in September 2010.
  • Another troop made Christmas cards for U.S. soldiers serving overseas and turned them in to the Defenders of Freedom card drive through KNCI radio in October 2010.
  • In November 2010, Daisy Troop 1366 with the help of Brownie Troop 1490 completely filled a donation barrel full of non-perishable food items for the Sacramento Food Bank by organizing a walking canned food drive, asking for donations from neighbors and friends.
Daisy Troop #1366 paint the “big book.”
This is a free event. Girl Scouts is a non-profit organization and troops are run by volunteers. Troop leaders are also needed.
