Breaking News: Child Abduction Attempt In Natomas

Sac PD is reporting an 11-year-old boy walking near Zurlo Way and Bridgecross was the victim of a child abduction attempt.
The report came in at 8:45 a.m. when a white van (no further description) with three white male adults inside pulled up next to the boy and one of the men attempted to grab him and pull him into the van.

The attempted abductor is described as: Male white in his 30s, wearing a black suit and black hat, who claimed to be a detective. The vehicle is a white van, no windows on the side, and two windows in the rear.

“The Sacramento Police Department had a number of officers in the North Natomas area this morning and our response and checks of the area were swift and thorough,” said Capt. Jim Maccoun. “The investigation of this incident is ongoing and we would like anyone who has home or business outdoor video surveillance in this area to contact us.”

Police Sgt. Kurt von Schoech reports the boy broke free from the would-be abductors and ran home. Schools in the area were notifiedCall Sac PD’s non-emergency number at (916) 264-5471 with any information about the incident or surveillance video.
