Road Resurfacing Work Under Way In Natomas

City transportation workers have started road resurfacing in parts of North Natomas.
Work will continue through June 23. Click here for a tentative schedule for street resurfacing in Natomas.
Streets will receive one of four types of resurfacing (slurry, micro surface, asphalt rubber cape seal or overlay) depending upon the street condition.

What residents can expect:

  • Work to take place weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Residents will be notified via a reminder that will be hung on the door three to five days before the street is due to be resurfaced specifying the day work is to be done. Note, before and after the actual resurfacing, work crews may be seen performing other work on the street.
  • Most commonly, no vehicles will be allowed on the street during the resurfacing process and the street will be closed for a portion of the day.
At the end of August through mid October Truxel Road from West El Camino Avenue to San Juan Road will get an overlay. The city’s share of the Sacramento County half-cent sales tax program and federal dollars pay for this year’s overlays.

The city aims to resurface every street in the city about once every 10 years to maintain quality in a cost-effective manner with available funds. There are no general funds allocated for this project.
