School’s Out For Dozens Of Natomas Teachers

One more day of school at the school that I thought I would retire from.
One more day until I am unemployed, forced out because of seniority (or lack of it) from a job I love doing.
One more day with the students and parents who work so hard with their kids, and appreciate me for the teacher I am and strive to be for THEIR kids.
One more day I get to teach.
What will the future hold for me?
-Cherie Perez, teacher at H. Allen Hight
Today is the last day of school for those Natomas Unified School District campuses on a modified-traditional school calendar and for dozens of teachers working at those schools who recently received final layoff notices. Good luck to everyone.
