The California Backyard store in Natomas has lost its lease in the Park Place Shopping Center located off Natomas Boulevard.
Employees at the store say they are not “closing,” but moving. Where to remains unknown which is why all the store’s inventory is being sold off in the meantime.
We’re told California Backyard hopes to relocate to another site in Natomas and not leave the neighborhood entirely. The store was reportedly unable to renew its lease with shopping center management.
How is that even possible in this economy? did they try to renegotiate and the center said no? Or did the center try to gouge one of the few tennats they have left?
Something fishy is going on. This makes no sense. If anyone is considering a purchase, use a credit card so you have recourse.
