Chamber Hopes To Keep Arena In Natomas

The Natomas Chamber of Commerce yesterday held a press conference on the 100 city-owned acres it hopes will be home to a new sports and entertainment complex in Natomas.
The land is located adjacent to the existing Arco Arena and, according to chamber officials, has the benefit of all the planning and infrastructure already completed with an arena in mind.
The chamber is among the Natomas ESC Partners which submitted one of seven arena proposals being reviewed by the Sacramento First task force. Mayor Kevin Johnson has gone on record saying no one proposal is a front runner despite the NBA’s and Maloof’s endorsing one of the plans.
“We don’t want the door to be shut just because the NBA has annointed one proposal,” says Marni Leger, owner of N magazine and chair of the Chamber’s campaign to “Keep the Arena in Natomas.”
