The Natomas Unified School District officials will hold two community forums as part of a multi-year Budget Recovery Plan slated for approval on Jan. 27, 2010:
- Saturday, Dec. 12, 10 a.m. to noon, Natomas High School theater, 3301 Fong Ranch Road
- Wednesday, Dec. 16, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Inderkum High School theater, 2500 New Market Drive
Forums will review budget cuts already made and options to makes additional cuts of $3.2 million in 2010-11, $11.7 million in 2011-12, and $21.7 in 2012-13.
That’s some nice fictional estimates the district is putting out to the public. Anyone can make a budget picture look grim. Hey, I estimate that I need a million dollars to spend on clothes next year, so I need a budget recovery plan to make it work. Who is going to scrutinize all my expenses to prove me wrong? Sometimes, it’s not all that obvious. How convenient nis that?
