Precautionary Lockdown At Natomas High Lifted

A precautionary lockdown at Natomas High School was lifted less than an hour after being imposed by the Sacramento Police Department.

In a ConnectEd telephone message to parents of Natomas high students, Principal John Eick explained the school went into lockdown on the advice of Sacramento police after a report of a young person in the area possibly carrying a weapon was received. The lockdown was in effect from 9:06 a.m. to 9:48 a.m.

According to Eick, Sac PD and school staff determined no threat was present at Natomas High School and it was safe to lift the lockdown after reviewing all surveillance video logs.

“I would like to congratulate your students and our staff for working exactly as we would expect them to do during this type of situation,” said Eick in his message to parents. “Please congratulate your students. I am very proud of them.”
