For the second time in two weeks, THE BUZZ has heard reports of homes being burglarized while their residents run quick errands. Both these homes had alarm systems which were not armed at the time the crimes occurred.
Both law enforcement officials and neighborhood leaders urge Natomas residents to always arm their house alarms when they leave the premises. Some are going so far as to encourage people to arm alarms even when at home for increased security.
Other things to keep in mind: Never leave your garage door opener in a vehicle parked outside the garage, always lock the door from your garage to your home, never leave a GPS device in your car, and don’t program GPS devices with addresses labeled “home”.
