Police Seek Suspect in Christmas Morning Homicide

The Sacramento Police Department is looking for 26 year-old Edgar Carrillo for the murder of Francisco Torres-Fernandez.

On Thursday, Dec. 25, at approximately 12:07 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 2300 block of North Avenue on the report that someone may have been shot. Officers found a male Hispanic in his 20’s who had been shot. The victim, Francisco Torres-Fernandez, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Sacramento Police Department’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene. At this time, it appears that an argument escalated resulting in the victim being shot by Edgar Carrillo.

Edgar Carrillo is described as a male Hispanic, 26 years-old, 5’5”, 155 lbs. Carrillo may be driving a green 2000 Nissan X-Terra.

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this crime to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP or (800) AA-Crime. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
