THE BUZZ participated in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record campaign this morning at the BORDERS bookstore on Natomas Boulevard.
The campaign is designed to bring attention to the importance of early education by encouraging hundreds of thousands of children and adults to read the same book on the same day. The goal was to break the world record for the largest shared reading experience in history!
Every child who participated in the BORDERS event received a free copy of the book, “Corduroy” by Don Freeman, as well as a certificate acknowledging their participation. Similar events were held today at schools, libraries, stores, hotels, playgrounds, offices, and homes across the country.
