Despite news reports and rumors to the contrary, we are told by a reliable source the new H. Allen Hight Elementary School is still scheduled to open this fall.
Enrollment is now under way for the Natomas Unified School District’s newest school, set to open Aug. 11, and serve students in grades K-5.
The school is part of the H. Allen Hight Learning Center which will consist of the elementary school and a middle school. The middle school is scheduled to open in August of 2009.
Natomas Unified School District officials were able to offset state budget cuts by deciding to delay opening the middle school.
A parent information meeting about H. Allen Hight Elementary School is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow June 10 at Natomas Park Elementary on 4700 Crest Drive.
