Monumental Mishap

A reader wrote in to THE BUZZ on Monday, April 14 after seeing some damage to a monument on the corner of North Park and Northborough drives. Here’s what we found out:

While driving eastbound on North Park, a Paladin security officer apparently fell asleep at the wheel and hit the accelerator as he nodded off. The accident happened in the early morning hours.

While making a left turn, going north onto Northborough, the patrol vehicle struck two cars and retainer wall in front of the residence located on the corner of North Park Drive and Northborough.

The patrol officer suffered minor abrasions, but no injuries were sustained by any other parties.

The private security company’s car is a total loss and Paladin is working with the homeowner and Natomas Park Master Association to repair the vehicles and wall.

Apparently, the security officer failed to observe Paladin’s nap policy which allows them to take breaks when needed. We’re told, the officer involved is no longer patrolling Natomas Park.
