Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby and the District 1 staff hosted the annual police officer and volunteer appreciation barbecue Thursday at the Natomas Police and Community Resource Center.

The Natomas Police and Community Resource Center opened in January 2009. It is designed to support both the Sacramento Police Department and its officers as well as the Natomas community.

The center is almost entirely staffed by volunteers, with city and county agencies occasionally holding office hours. Services provided at the center include signing off fix-it tickets, filing online police reports, code enforcement issues, crime/safety tips, city resources and more.

The NPCRC is located at 2701 Del Paso Road, in Suite 140, (Safeway shopping center).
