In case you missed it, KCRA last night aired a report on the demise of Natomas parks in light of city budget cuts while brand-new parks are being constructed just blocks away.
Efforts are currently under way to formalize a city adopt-a-park program that would empower area residents to help maintain neighborhood parks on their own.

The City’s resources to maintain parks – Citywide – has been reduced. We are engaging with neighbors and groups who would like to be part of this program that encourages volunteers to adopt their local or neighborhood park – you pick the time when you want to volunteer with your neighbors or if you have a group that wants to come out on a Saturday four times a year, we want to help organize this effort. Many Natomas neighbors have already participated in this effort and we would like your help too.
