Del Paso Boulevard Floodgates Closed

City transportation crews have closed the floodgates on Del Paso Boulevard between Railroad Drive and Northgate Boulevard due to high water levels in the Sacramento River.
It is unknown how long the gates will be closed. A city crew is patrolling the levee, which is standard practice at this stage.
Closing the floodgates prevents flooding of Del Paso Boulevard. With the closure, Del Paso will be closed at Railroad Drive through Northgate Boulevard and Northgate Boulevard will be closed from Highway 160 to Garden Highway until further notice. Drivers will need to find alternate routes off of Highway 160.
The city routinely closes the floodgates when the water reaches 23.5 feet at the bridge on Northgate Boulevard and Garden highway.
