Identity of Shooting Victim Released

The victim of a deadly shooting last Friday night in Natomas has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner.

Shortly before 10:40 p.m. on Feb. 4 Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to a report that someone had been shot on the 2700 block of Stonecreek Drive.

Upon their arrival, officers found an adult male — identified on Tuesday as Calvin Davis, 39, of Sacramento — who had sustained serious injuries from at least one gunshot wound.

Davis was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to a press release issued by police.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene for evidence and canvassed the area for witnesses and information.

At press time, no suspect information or other updates on the incident had been released.

The Sacramento Police Department asks that any witnesses with information about the shooting contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000. Anonymous tips can also be submitted using the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app.
