Daikon Korean BBQ & More Now Open for Dine-in

Daikon Korean BBQ was an early casualty of the coronavirus, temporarily closing its doors just a month after it first opened for business in Natomas.

But, two months later, the all-you-can-eat Korean restaurant reopens for dine-in service today, May 28.

“We are beyond excited to be back in business,” co-owner Trinh Le said Wednesday.

Daikon Korean BBQ first opened in the Village at Sacramento Gateway shopping center on Feb. 3, but closed on March 17 to observe social distancing.

The popular eatery resumed operations with a new to-go menu on Friday, May 22, about the same time state rules that restricted dine-in service were loosened.

To keep in line with state guidelines for restaurants, Daikon Korean BBQ will only use half of its dining room and seat guests at every other table. There will also be signage with social distancing reminders throughout the restaurant.

In an effort to deter crowds from gathering, the restaurant is now accepting reservations in addition to walk-ins. Those waiting to be seated will not be allowed to do so inside, and the restaurant will now text a message to diners when their table is ready in lieu of reusable buzzers.

All Daikon staff will wear masks and diners will be encouraged — but not required — to wear masks also. High traffic areas and surfaces will be sanitized between guests.

The restaurant now has single-use, paper menus as well as a contactless menu which uses QR codes. Dine-in customers will be able to order from Daikon Korean BBQ’s full menu and the new takeout menu.

“The first time around we didn’t have enough time to let Natomas experience what we wanted them to experience,” said Le, adding that his team was hopeful for the “re-grand opening” today.
