The Natomas Unified School District honored 13 of its students during a special breakfast held Friday, Jan. 18.

The school district participates in the Association of California School Administrators’ “Every Student Succeeding Program” which honors students – and the educators who support them who have succeeded academically while overcoming significant personal challenges.

The 13 student nominated to participate in the program have courageous and powerful personal stories of success. From these students, three will be selected as finalists and will move forward and represent the district at the regional level. One student from the regional level will then be selected to compete at the state level.

The students recognized at the breakfast were: Austin Lukenbill (NMS), Retuquel Dupree (NHS), Gavin Sanghera (WR), Eric Nicol (ALE), Sydney Sambajon (NPE), Frederick Avila (HAH), Julien Picket (BC), Harsimran Dhaliwal (DHS), Eli Wadley (LGA), Montray Allen (IHS), Dontay Howell (JE), Kalian Williams (HS) and Jose Lopez (TR).

School board members, teachers, parents, guardians, and other support people celebrated with the students. This event was sponsored by the law firm of Kronick Moskovitz Tiedmann & Girard.
