A Natomas bookstore plans to send prayer blankets to victims’ families and hold a prayer vigil in response to the shooting in Connecticut.

Damascus Road Christian Books & Gifts is now accepting donations to buy materials to make flannel prayer blankets which will be gifted to the families of each person who died Friday, Dec. 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Conn.

Store owner Telle King has been scheduled a blanket-making session and prayer vigil at 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29 at Natomas Crossroads Church, 1101 National Drive. A prayer vigil is set for 6 p.m.

Volunteers will be needed to help make and pray over the blankets, King said.

Materials to pre-assemble the blankets can be picked up at the Damascus Road store, which is located in the Park Place Shopping Center at 2281 Del Paso Road Suite 110.

Donations toward materials and shipping of the blankets can be made online here or at the store. For more information, to volunteer to help make blankets or make a donation, send an email to King at [email protected].

NUSD SCHOOL FLAGS WILL FLY AT HALF STAFF TIL SUNDOWN ON 12/18.
