The Natomas Unified School District this week honored a dozen of its students who have been nominated to participate in the “Every Student Succeeding” program with a breakfast celebration.

The Natomas school district is participating in the Association of California School Administrator’s program which recognizes students who succeed in education in spite of obstacles.

Twelve students – with courageous and powerful personal stories – have been nominated by the Natomas Unified School District to participate in the program. Three of these students will be selected as finalists to represent the school district at the regional level. One student from the region will go on to compete on a state level.

Students from Natomas nominated to the Every Student Succeeding program include: Amari Williams Amos of American Lakes Elementary, Gavin Downing of Bannon Creek Elementary, Xzavia Moore of Jefferson Elementary,  Marquez Butts of H. Allen Hight Elementary, Madilyn Parker of Heron School, Sophia Glick of Natomas Park Elementary, David Merva of Two Rivers Elementary, Jamiel Stanley of Witter Ranch Elementary, Anthony Wilder of Natomas Middle, Katherine Diaz of Inderkum High, and Natalia Serrato of Natomas High.

The breakfast event held Wednesday, Feb. 29 was sponsored by the Kronick Moskovitz Tiedmann & Girard law firm and included award presentations and a keynote address by interim superintendent Dr. Walter Hanline.
