Seen In Natomas: Deadly Driveway Repaved

THE BUZZ recently noticed a change in the landscape at Smythe Academy where a young boy was hit by a car and died.
The driveway where the offending vehicle pulled out onto of the charter school’s parking lot onto Northgate Boulevard has been repaved and is no longer an exit.
NATOMAS BUZZ readers will recall 4-year-old Jonathan Vasquez was riding his scooter to the school when he was hit by a vehicle and dragged several feet. The car did not stop and the driver is still at large  (see sketch).
Sac PD urges anyone with info on this incident contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP, text to 274637 (CRIMES), or call traffic detectives directly at (916) 808-6030. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
