Police Beat
1A (North Natomas)

  • Residential burglaries went down 28% (28 to 20) and is the lowest total in 4 months
  • Vehicle Burglaries went down 17% (29 to 24) and is tied for the lowest monthly total all year
  • Robbery unspecified went down 66% (3 to 1) and is the first time robberies went down since February and is tied for the lowest total all year.
  • All 7 tracked crime categories went down in August.

Police Beat 1B (South Natomas)

  • Vehicle Burglaries went down 62% (37 to 14) and is the 2nd lowest total all year.
  • Robbery unspecified went down 50% (6 to 9) and is first decrease since May and the lowest total since March.

Police Beat 1C (Gardenland/Northgate)

  • Residential burglaries went up 60% (5 to 8) and is the first increase since May.
  • Stolen vehicles went down 65% (29 to 10) and has decreased in every month this year.
  • Robbery unspecified went down 50% (4 to 2) and is tied for the lowest month all year with January.

Citywide statistics from January through August are as follows:

  • Murder up 3.1% (32 to 33)
  • Rape down 25.5% (141-105)
  • All Robbery down 10.4% (1,352 to 1,212)
  • Total Assaults down 2.5% (4,979 to 4,855)
  • Burglary down 1.6% (3,576 to 3,518)
  • Larceny down 5.2% (8,846 to 8,387)
  • Motor vehicle theft down 16.8% (4,153 to 3,456)
