A meeting set for this coming Friday will allow area residents to review plans and provide input on the design of a new fire station approved for South Natomas.

City councilman Jeff Harris will host the meeting 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 29 at the South Natomas Community Center.

The new firehouse will replace Fire Station No. 15 which is currently located at 1591 Newborough Drive near the corner of Truxel Road and West El Camino. Plans are to build the new station in Park Plaza, located at 1640 West El Camino Avenue.

The Sacramento City council voted in June 2015 to spend $10 million to replace two outdated fire stations. Fire Station No. 15 primarily responds to calls for South Natomas.

Over the years, the city has twice modified Fire Station No. 15’s structural frame to allow for newer model fire trucks to park inside.

The South Natomas Community Center is located at 2921 Truxel Road. For more information about the meeting contact Jennifer West in Harris’ office at [email protected] or 916-808-7003.
