Police Investigate Homicide in Natomas

One man is dead and another hospitalized after a fatal shooting Monday evening in Natomas.

At about 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 19 police officers responded to the area of Northfield Drive and Northview Drive after reports of the sounds of shots being fired and a person being shot.

When officers arrived they found a male adult suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot injury. The victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated.

Officers continued to search the area and found a second shooting victim who was seriously injured. The second adult male was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead a short time later by medical personnel.

Police said they are investigating the shooting, but added they believe an altercation involving multiple people occurred just prior to the incident.
