City officials over the weekend broke ground on Valley Oak Park in Natomas.
The 10.6-acre park is located at Mabry Drive and Portage Way. The first phase of park construction will see a youth basketball court, water spray area, picnic structure with tables and benches, a tot lot and adventure play area.
Also planned for Valley Oak Park are a soccer field, volleyball court, adult basketball court, exercise stations, tennis courts, dog parks and restrooms. The park is located adjacent to the future site of Westlake Charter School.
