Incumbents Lead Natomas School Board Race

Early Returns Show Roberts,
Heredia Ahead In 10-way Race

Incumbents Susan Heredia and Bruce Roberts currently lead the 10-way race for three seats on the Natomas Unified School Board.

With 25 out of 46 precincts reporting, Heredia currently holds 17.51 percent of the votes followed by Roberts with 13.06 percent.

Newcomer Karen Bernal trails Roberts by 10 votes. Only eight votes currently separate Bernal and candidate Ryan Herche, who lost his bid for school board in 2010 to Teri Burns by only 20 votes.

Candidate Scott Dosick currently ranks 131 votes behind Herche while candidates HK Allen, Vina Guzman, Briza Trujillo Cardenas and Michael Bedrosian trail several hundred votes behind.

Josh Baker, who did not campaign during the election season, is currently in last place with 216 votes.

There are 5,611 undervotes. An undervote occurs when the number of choices selected by a voter in a contest is less than the maximum number allowed for that contest or when no selection is made for a single choice contest. 

Voters were allowed to choose three candidates for the Natomas Unified school board.
