Sacramento police have arrested two suspects in connection with a high-speed chase early this morning in Natomas.

At about 1:18 a.m. police officers attempted to approach a silver SUV parked on the sidewalk in the area of Duckhorn Drive and Myotis Drive and a vehicle pursuit ensued. At times the chase reached speeds of 90 mph on Truxel Road and Garden Highway.

Police terminated the pursuit due to unsafe conditions. Shortly after the pursuit was cancelled the suspect vehicle struck a tree in the area of Northview Drive, and the occupants began to flee the scene.

Some passengers suffered non life-threatening injuries and were quickly apprehended nearby.

The Sacramento Police helicopter assisted with a search which resulted in the rest of the occupants – including the driver – being taken into custody.

All injured occupants of the vehicle were either treated and released at the scene or transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, Jorge Garcia, 27, was charged with felony hit and run and felony evading. One of the vehicle passengers, Michael Foster, 26, was booked for violating the terms and conditions of his parole.

No officers were injured as a result of this incident.
