Both Inderkum and Natomas High School fall programs are closing out the non-league schedule and gearing up for Tri-County League season over the next few weeks.

Athlete-of-the-week Inderkum senior defensive lineman Dedric Allen led the way for the Tigers against Spanish Springs last Friday, in the second game of the season. Allen recorded two sacks, eight total tackles and recovered a fumble.

Inderkum
Football: The 13th ranked Tigers continue the home stretch against 3rd ranked Pleasant Grove 7:30 p.m. Friday night. Both teams come in with 2-0 record and run a similar run-first mentalities on offense.

Girl’s Volleyball:The Tigers host McClatchy tonight at 7 p.m. O-5 on the season, Inderkum will also host Oakmont on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m.

Boy’s Soccer: The Tigers (2-3-1) host West Campus tonight at 7 p.m. and Cordova on Monday before starting league competition on Wednesday at Yuba City at 6 p.m.

Natomas
Football: Nighthawks will travel Friday against Center at 7:30 p.m. Center (1-1) is coming off an impressive 35-17 victory last Friday against River City. The Nighthawks (0-2) will look to control the clock and scoreboard early to eliminate getting behind in the first half.

Girl’s Tennis: The Nighthawks won the division competition at the Clovis Invitational for the second straight year last weekend. Number one singles player, Ashleen Rai, won 4-1 and Ojaswi Adhikari (3) won two matches. In doubles matches Tejaswi Adhikari and Lidia Hernandez won four of five matches. The number two doubles team of Nehaa Khadka and Marissa Rosales went undefeated in all five matches.

Girl’s Volleyball:Falling to 0-7, the Nighthawks look to turn things around tonight at Laguna Creek at 6 p.m and host Highlands next Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Boy’s Soccer: After starting 1-4 to begin the season, the Nighthawks, led by senior forward Alberto Reyes (four goals), have won two of the last three games. The team will play under the lights Saturday, Sept. 15 at Grant starting at 7 p.m. The Nighthawks begin league play on Wednesday, Sept. 18 against Woodland at home.
