Last night’s DUI and driver’s license checkpoint in Natomas resulted in four arrests, according to the Sacramento Police Dept.

More than 1,200 vehicles were stopped by police officers at the Del Paso Road and Five Star Way checkpoint. At final count, police had issued 49 citations, screened six drivers for possible impairment and arrested three people on suspicion of driving under the influence.

At about 10:46 p.m., one driver, driving at a high rate of speed, attempted to avoid the check point. The driver fled his vehicle and was arrested by police.

A search of the vehicle turned up a loaded gun. Elijah Odums, 22, was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on possession of a loaded gun and other vehicle code violations.
