“I wanted to do something that is important to me and would resonate with the community as well,” said NP3 senior Airayana Calloway, president of NP3’s Key Club.
The Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep Key Club and the Ally Club participated in the 4th annual Out of the Darkness Community Walk on Saturday, Oct. 29 in Sacramento.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention walk event honors loved ones lost to suicide and raises awareness about suicide prevention and education.

The walk started on the west steps of the state capitol building and continued in a 5K circle around midtown.

“I think that doing this event really encompasses the culture we are after at NP3, that kids know what is going out and want to participate,” said vice president of the Key Club Aly Williams.

The NP3 Ally Club is the anti-bullying school group working with the Key Club, Take Action club and the Student Body Officers to unify the campus through events such as “ally day” and participating in the national Day of Silence every April 20, 2012.
