School Finances Topic Of Town Hall

ASSEMBLYMAN RICHARD PAN ADDRESSES PARENTS, COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND SEVERAL SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYEES THURSDAY EVENING.
Fifty people attended a town hall meeting co-hosted by Assemblyman Richard Pan and Natomas Unified School District superintendent Bobbie Plough Thursday evening at Inderkum High School.
The 1 1/2-hour session covered the district’s money woes, pending legislation that would enable a state takeover of the district, efforts to avoid such a takeover, and how Gov. Jerry Brown’s proposed tax extensions could help fund K-12 education.

SEVERAL COMMITTEES HAVE BEEN CREATED TO EXPLORE REVENUE-GENERATING IDEAS, BOOST VOLUNTEERISM AT SCHOOLS AND CAMPAIGN IN FAVOR OF PROPOSED TAX EXTENSIONS.
