A kindergartner at H. Allen Hight Elementary School photographed today wearing a shirt protesting state budget cuts which mean his teacher will likely receive a pink slip after 15 years of teaching - five in the Natomas Unified School District. Natomas district officials expect to issue 95 layoff notices to teachers by the March 15 deadline. Additional employee layoff notices will go out by the end of the month.
